Press Release From Dimitris Ioannidis:

Last weekend, the 3rd Round of the 1/10 EP Touring Nats was hosted in the fast and low traction track of FRT, Athens. The weather was pretty hot and sunny and the conditions were ideal for some touring action. As 3 out of 4 races count for the overall championship every driver wanted to grab a good result in the 3rd race, as this year's championship slowly comes to a close.

In the Touring Modified class, reigning Greek Champion Dimitris Ioannidis had the pace advantage over the field being able to lap 4-5 tenths quicker per lap than the rest of the grid. He was able to take TQ early on in front of veteran Vaggelis Papachristos(Xray) and multi time Greek Champion Filippos Isaakidis(Mugen Seiki). In the finals, Ioannidis took the win in leg 1 and leg 3 with a big lead over the 2nd driver after a problem with his tires in leg 2 that led to a DNF, securing his 6th Greek Championship and 2nd consecutive in the EP Touring Modified class having taken already 3 wins out of 3 races in the 2022 Championship. Also, as the race winner of this specific race would win the Greek Cup title, Ioannidis took home his 4th Greek Cup. Meanwhile, a lot of tight battles happened in the 3 legs for the rest of the podium places. In the end, it was former 4x Greek TC Mod Champion Filippos Isaakidis who grabbed 2nd place overall with 2x P2 finishes in the legs while 3x Nitro Touring Greek Champion Dimitris Dimitriou(Xray) managed from 7th on the grid to round out the final podium place with a P2 and a P3 finish after battling it out with Vaggelis Papachristos and Andreas Koutras(Mugen Seiki).

In the Stock class, it was all to play for as we had seen 2 different winners in the first 2 races and independent of the result of the 3rd race, the championship will be decided in the 4th and final race. In qualifying, the competition was fierce as 6 different drivers were able to secure a Top 3 result at least once. Eventually, it was veteran Giorgos Kalantzakis(Mugen Seiki) who would take pole position on the tie-breaker with fast Tasos Batas(Mugen Seiki) securing P2 on the grid while experienced Nikos Nikolakopoulos(Xpress) was able to secure P3 on the grid. In the finals, the battle was intense for the first place between Kalantzakis and Batas. Kalantzakis won leg 1 while Batas took leg 2. Eventually, the two of them fought for victory in leg 3 and it was Kalantzakis who took the win and with it the Greek Cup for Stock class in front of Batas and Nikos Nikolakopoulos.
