One of the highlights of this weekend's Maker Faire Milwaukee - among the largest events of its kind in the U.S. - will be the inaugural Milwaukee Mile R/C race held on the front straightaway of the famed stock car racing circuit. LiveTime and LiveRC will be organizing the unique event, which will feature popular on-road racing classes competing in a Heat Race Qualifying Format in front of thousands of spectators.

Wooden jumps will be added to the track for the 2WD Short Course class sure to get the crowd pumped up!

In addition to the on-track action, Trackside Hobbies will be operating a nearby Try-Me track will get fair-goers - mechanically-minded builders and inventors - hooked on the exciting world of RC racing.

The track area will be open on Friday for racers who'd like to come set up - and they'll be pitting in the NASCAR pit lane. Two separate race programs - one each on Saturday and Sunday - will be held, with the combined winner of both days crowned overall event champion.
