BREAKING: Joe Bornhorst left AKA Products - next deal already lined up?

On the final afternoon of 2015, breakout 1/8-scale off-road star Joe Bornhorst announced on Facebook that he would not be returning to AKA Products for next season. He's the second high-profile pro to depart from the California-based tire and accessory manufacturer this winter, after the amicable split from former world champion Jared Tebo last Monday.

Though Jared Tebo is expected to be announced officially with Pro-Line Racing in the next few days, it's not yet known where Bornhorst will end up - though he did imply that a deal was already done.

"New year, new beginnings. For 2016 I will be making a pretty big change in my racing program. I have decided to begin a new chapter in my racing career with a new tire sponsor, which means I will no longer be racing for AKA Products Inc. I would like to give everyone at AKA a huge thank you for everything that they have done for me. Mark, Joel, Gil, Brent, Pres, and Jeremy have all worked very hard over the last three years to help me bring my racing career to the point that it is and I will always be grateful for that. I wish them all the best of luck in the future.
