Bluegroove Hobbies in Des Moines, IA announced on Monday that its track and hobby shop would cease operations following a final week of club races.

Operated by Phil Hargis and his family, the indoor clay off-road track opened on November 29, 2014 and hosted many marquee events that drew racers from around the Midwest and beyond. The track posted this message regarding its plans to close on Facebook.

“As we get older everything changes…our priorities, our goals, our day-to-day lives. An opportunity has arose that our family is unable to pass on. With that being said we would like to announce that Bluegroove Hobbies & RC Raceway is CLOSING & hosting our Final Race on May 27th.

We want to thank all of our customers near and far, our followers and the entire racing community for supporting this dream that has come to be known as BGRC.

Thank you!

Phil & the entire BGRC Family”

Bluegroove Hobbies will host its final two races this Friday at 7 PM and Saturday at 2 PM. You can find more information on their Facebook page, www.facebook.com/bluegroovehobbies
