DEVELOPING: Mark Pavidis let go from AKA Products

Shortly after 5 PM CT yesterday, Mark Pavidis posted to his personal Facebook page to inform the RC community that AKA Products informed him that his employment with the company had been terminated. This is what he said:

“I wanted to let everyone know that today I was let go from AKA Products. It was a very rewarding opportunity to start something from nothing. Along the way we won multiple National and World Championships all over the world. I want to thank all of the customers, racers and vendors I was able to work with along the way.”

About two and a half hours later, Pavidis posted a follow-up message to clarify that, while he had worked for the company since its inception in 2008, he did not have any financial stake in the brand:

“I have countless people asking why I was let go from my own company that I help start. I want to clear things up. I have NEVER had ANY ownership in AKA Products.”

The shocking news leaves a lot of questions on both sides, as to what Mark’s future may be as well as what this means for AKA Products. We are in the process of reaching out to both parties and will present further information as it becomes available.
