How to Mix & Apply Traction on your Track
We regularly get asked how we mix & apply the traction on our tracks at Hudy Arena.
We do not keep this information secret; we are happy to share it with you! We use a sugar mixture that we have developed over the years by testing various ratios of components.
For the initial spraying of the track, we prepare the sugar mixture in a ratio of equal parts (1:1) sugar:water in a capacity of 45 liters.
Ideal traction is achieved by sugaring the track at least 2 times along the main path, with the sides being sugared only once. To improve track traction, apply the sugar mixture again after 2 days. This time use a different mixture with a ratio of 1:1.7 sugar:water. The track is then sprayed the same way.
We have designed and made our own spraying machine, but you can achieve the same results with any commercially-available sprayers from any hardware store.
It’s as simple as that!
Now you can enjoy your race with better traction, and everyone will have more fun.
