Press release from Alpha:

Alpha Plus is making big strides in the US Market this year. With the signing of Ryan Lutz to be the US Team Manager, a couple of top young drivers have now been signed to represent Alpha Plus for the 2015 season. These two drivers are both Midwest fast guys, (Also where Lutz grew up) and have shown their potential already. Both are poised to make 2015 be break out years for themselves.

First up is Joe Bornhorst from Ohio, who has proven himself in the Electric 1/8th scale classes with numerous big wins against the nation’s finest.  For 2015 he will be running a combination of the new Alpha Plus Dragon II engine, and the Ryan Lutz Worlds edition engine in his buggy. In Truggy, his plans are to run the Ryan Lutz Worlds edition engine, or the .23 A352, track depending.  With Joe set to attend all of the nations largest events in 2015, we are excited to see him pilot his Alpha Plus engines into multiple A-main and podium finishes!

Next from Indiana is Derek Weatherholt who is always a top contender at the large Midwest regional races he attends. With a little help this year, Derek is looking to have the opportunity to place well at the ROAR Nationals and qualify for the IFMAR Worlds. Derek has always had a ton of raw speed and this year looks to Alpha Plus engines to provide him with the consistency necessary for the grueling Nitro events! Derek’s main focus is 1/8th buggy and much like Joe, he will be choosing between the Alpha Plus Dragon II and the Ryan Lutz Worlds Edition engine for buggy.
