Reedy posted an image and short message on their Facebook page this afternoon alluding to a "Reedy Outdoor Off-Road Championships" at the world-renowned Hot Rod Hobbies in Saugus, CA, over the weekend of November 21 and 22.
For well over a decade, Hot Rod Hobbies has hosted the "Reedy Truck Race of Champions" in the fall, which originally started with electric and nitro stadium truck classes but eventually grew and morphed to include short course trucks and 1/8-scale nitro trucks, especially as the nitro stadium truck class died and electric stadium truck entries waned. Is the Reedy Outdoor Off-Road Championships a replacement for the Truck Race? Perhaps. But it may provide an annual opportunity for electric off-road racers to do something that's becoming increasingly rare these days - go outdoors and run tires with pins.
We have no idea when we'll find out more about this first-ever event, but we'll be sure to pass along any information we find!
