Loyal fans and customers across the U.S. were sad to see FTW RC cease business operations at the end of April, ending the production of its popular lineup of Lexan bodies for a wide array of 1/10- and 1/8-scale off-road vehicles. Thanks to a fellow-Texas based R/C painter, however, those enthusiasts will be able to continue adorning their cars and trucks with their preferred style of shell.
Late Thursday, Snow's Designs posted the following message to Facebook page alerting followers to an expansion of their business:
It's a big jump for Gary Snow of Forney, TX, who will begin producing the former FTW RC designs under the Snow's Designs label in addition to continuing to provide painting services. "It's still very early in the process," said Snow, who must first transport the molds and equipment from Austin to the Dallas area, a 200 mile trek.
The equipment and products aren't the only part of FTW's legacy that will live on. "I plan to keep everything FTW had in place going," said Snow, "along with their dealers."
Not only will Snow's Designs return FTW's previous items into production, but they plan on developing their own new items as well. "We plan on selling bodies and parts through a network of dealers," said Snow, "as well as directly through our website, along with custom paint work."
Though Snow could not provide an estimated launch date, he hoped to be able to provide more information later this week. You can follow along on the
Snow's Designs Facebook page.
