From Team Durango (via Facebook):

As has become customary for seemingly every manufacturer in the RC industry these days, Team Durango "leaked" a photo of a new 2WD racing buggy that was allegedly taken by one employee without another's knowledge - never mind that most brands would actually fire someone for doing such a thing rather than publish the photo on Facebook...but whatever.

Anyway, the purposely vague photo of the car itself shows off a couple of interesting tidbits. It looks to be the personal racer of an employee at the British brand (though the driver's name decal is too out of focus), sporting a full paint job rather than an all-white or all-yellow test body, which also sports Exotek, SMD, and Answer-RC logos. (EDIT: The car is believed to belong to Chris Doughty) The body design itself is new, with large raised sides and a mohawk-style point down the rear of the cab.

The chassis looks to be fitted with a front end similar to the existing DEX210 as noted by the "button" on the side where the assembly is secured to the chassis. There's not much else to see until you get to the rear shocks, which are mounted behind the rear shock tower and to the rear of the suspension arms. The fact that there's no motor plate or spur gear protruding from the body suggests that the car has either been fitted with either an inline-mounted motor and rear driveshaft setup, or a low CG transmission. Click here to view examples of both as tested by Redworkshop.

The timing of the phony "leak," just days ahead of the start of the IFMAR Worlds Warm-Up race at Yatabe Arena in Japan, suggests that we may learn more details of the new car soon - especially if it performs well this weekend.

Oh, and it should be noted that Team Durango's own Facebook audience seemed unimpressed with the pagentry of the post, overwhelmingly preferring to ask about news on a potential short course truck update...
