The Midwest Carpet Classic is a Trophy race were racers can select 7 different classes to compete against each other for a TQ plague and A-Main Plaques from 1st - 5th place. The A-Mains will be a single 6-minute main, while the lower mains will be a single 5-minute main with 2 bump-ups.

The Cash Shootout is an unusual event in RC Racing. It will have a cash purse of $1700.00. The winner of Mod 2WD Buggy and Mod 4WD Buggy will receive $500, a Trophy and Replica Check. 2nd place will win $250, 3rd place will win $100. Both classes will run Triple A-Mains (5 Minutes), with the best 2 out of 3 determining the finishing order. Lower mains will run a single 5-minute main with no bump-ups. Racers are not required to enter both modified classes to be eligible for the cash prizes.

The race is limited to 130 Drivers / 200 Entries.

There are 92 permanent trackside pit spots and 48 overflow pit spots available.

Racers from Arkansas, Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, and Nebraska have contacted me about the event.

before April 21st. Entries must be paid by phone at (712) 253-0087 or in person at the store by April 21st. If the event fills up, unpaid entries will be removed. Only paid entries are guaranteed a spot. Please enter your transponder when signing up as this will make the race day go much smoother.

The hobby shop is 2500 square feet and the track is 42 x 80. The track is made up of a high grade commercial carpet and the CRC Click-Trak Quick Connect Track Barrier System. The carpet has an amazing amount of traction with no tire sauce needed or allowed. The track has a 3 foot metal and red wood wall all the way around it with a top rail. You can stand around it or sit on a stool and watch the races. The drivers stand has a ramp and stairs making it handicap accessible and can hold up to 10 drivers. We also have 3, 46” televisions throughout the facility to view liveRC. Chassis protectors and shock towers are required.

Bad Fat Hobbies is located on the grounds of the Southern Hills Mall and on the corner of one of the busiest intersections in Sioux City. Sioux City is in northwest Iowa. The city is home to several cultural points of interest including the Sioux City Art Center, Sioux City Public Museum, LaunchPAD Children's Museum, Sergeant Floyd Monument, Sergeant Floyd River Museum and Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center. Sioux City is also home of the Hard Rock Casino, Orpheum Theatre and Tyson Event Center. Interstate 29 is a major highway that goes through Sioux City providing the surrounding areas easy access. I-29 also connects Sioux City to Omaha, NE to the South and Sioux Falls, SD to the North. Sioux City is served by Sioux Gateway Airport that offers many daily flights. You can also fly out of Omaha, NE or Sioux Falls, SD. Both are located about an hour and a half away from Sioux on I-29, North and South.

There are several close restaurants including Red Lobster which is right next door. Other restaurants include Olive Garden, Texas Roadhouse, Old Chicago, HuHot Mongolian Grill,

Applebee’s Grill & Bar, Outback Steakhouse, Famous Dave’s, Chili’s Grill & Bar and Four Brothers Bar & Grill. We also plan to have a food tuck in the parking lot on Friday and Sunday and my daughter will be grilling burgers on Saturday.
