2021 Hot August Showdown hosted by Cabinet Mountain Raceway in Libby, MT is in the books.  In the nitro classes they ran 10-minute heads-up qualifiers.  Adam Drake was the overall TQ and went on to win the 25-minute nitro buggy and nitro truck finals.  

The event kicked off on Thursday evening with a clinic hosted by Adam Drake from 6pm – 9pm.  The clinic allowed racers to get additional track time, asking questions and get set-up help.  The local news stopped by Thursday evening to do a special on the event.  The clinic finished Friday morning followed by open practice.  Saturday was three rounds of qualifying and main event were on Sunday.

Hats off to Cabinet Mountain Raceway, Kootenai RC Racers, and Scheer Bros Hobbies for all the hard work and for providing races with such an amazing event and facility. 

Nitro Buggy:

Mugen Seiki MBX8 Worlds Edition buggy.

OS Speed B21 Adam Drake 2 engine, TB02 pipe, 75mm header, and P3 gold glow plug. 

JConcepts S15 Body, F2I Wing, Green Reflex, Dirt-Tech Inserts, Yellow Bullet wheels, Front nose scoop, and medium JC tire glue.  

Futaba 7PXR radio system and R324SBS receiver.  

Protek RC 170SBL and 170 TBL brushless servos.

Flash Point R/C 30% fuel, 2500mAh receiver battery.

Nitro Truck:
