Flashback: 2002
Team Losi Racing sweeps the IFMAR 1:10 Offroad World Championship

The 2002 IFMAR 1:10 Offroad World Championships went down in the history books as a monumental event for Team Losi Racing, as they would become the first R/C car manufacture to win both 2wd and 4wd at the prestigious 1:10 Offroad World Championships. The event was held in Pretoria, South Africa, and brought about some of the world's best including the faces of Brian Kinwald, Neil Cragg, Mark Pavidis, Travis Amezcua, and many more.

In the 2wd Buggy class it would be legendary Matt Francis who would take his Team Losi XXX buggy to the top with teammate Brian Kinwald following in 2nd. In the 4wd Buggy class, the world got a glimpse of the prototype XXX-4 buggy in the hands of Matt Francis (2wd Buggy class winner), Travis Amezcua, and Dave Montgomery. The prototype XXX-4 buggy looked promising, however, it would be Team Losi engineer, Jukka Steenari, who would take his production XX-4 to the top step of the podium. This would add yet another World Championship victory to Steenari's already impressive resume.

As TLR gets set to release their new 22-4 4wd buggy (which is similar to XX-4 in many ways), they have shared with us an up close and personal look at Jukka's 2002 Worlds winning XX-4 buggy for this week's "Flashback Friday!"
