Japanese on-road racing marquee T.O.P. Racing published the first images of their upcoming Rebel F1X chassis for the growing Formula One pan car class. Based on the previous Rebel F1, the X is built on a standard carbon fiber chassis with a link-type rear suspension setup made popular on 1/12-scale vehicles, and both inline and transverse battery mounting options will be possible with a “shorty” pack. In comparison to its predecessor, all of the changes are focused on the front of the car with a new suspension setup and servo mount. In fact, TOP has already published instructions on converting the F1 to the F1X.
The arms are cut from carbon fiber and connect to molded plastic inserts in order to accept the steering knuckle mounts. The lower front suspension arms are fixed to the chassis, with the upper arms pivoting on an aluminum bulkhead. The low-profile servo mount can be angled using a range of mounting options.
T.O.P. has also published the F1X manual, standard setup sheet, parts list, an optional parts list, and the instructions to convert the F1 into the F1X.
