Serpent introduces the new 1/8 scale E-Buggy, Cobra SRX8-E

The car is designed by Billy Easton in the USA and is based on the 2016 released Cobra SRX8 gas-powered buggy and shares the whole front and rear suspension system, shocks and geardiffs.

The Cobra SRX8-E offers some unique features that make it really special. The SRX8-E comes standard in block or brick pack layout as this is the most commonly used one. However the SRX8-E can be changed in very little time to the optional saddle pack lay out, using the same chassis, motor holder and centre diff holder.

Other main specs:

  • Hard coated 4mm chassis 7075 T6 aluminium , flat style sides, with kick up
  • Block type layout with long front centre shaft and short rear one
  • Easy access receiver box and speedo/servo holder
  • Smart integrated design chassis stiffeners
  • Machined aluminium 15 dgr C-hubs, steeringblocks, uprights, shocktowers, one-screw motorholder  and centre diff brackets, as well as suspension mounts
  • Hard coated Big bore shocks 16mm ( emulsion/membrane ) with high end racing springs and hardcoated aluminium shock standoffs
  • Durable suspension arms with top and bottom mounted inserts ( for optional carbon inserts)
  • Coated aluminium suspension holders with a varierty of possible inserts
  • Spring steel pivot pins rotate in pivot balls for minimal friction
  • Angled steering system with adjustable Ackermann and integrated effective servosaver
  • 3 large volume durable gear differentials  with foam compensator inserts
  • Easy access differential cases
  • Springsteel transmission parts,  cvd style drive shafts and rear centre dogbones,
  • Rubber dustcovers on front and rear cvd’s
  • Black coated 7075 T6 aluminium front centre shaft
  • Ballraced front and rear anti-roll bars with Serpent pivotball linkage system  on the arms
  • Top quality NSK ball bearings  in main areas
  • Lightweight hardcoated aluminium track and steeringrods
  • Low profile medium downforce bodyshell  and polycarbonate mudguards
  • Large high downforce moulded straight type rear wing and strong monotype adjustable wingmount

The optional upgrade set to the saddle pack layout consists of the 2 light battery trays/sideguards  to be used with touch-belts  or optional carbon top decks, composite chassis stiffeners  and the 2 long centre steel shafts.  The receiver box moves from the rear section to the front centre.   The smart layout and use of universal parts makes changing from block to saddle layout a quick and easy as chassis and motor holder are the same.
