In the increasingly competitive world of 2wd buggy racing, especially in the stock class, a lighter car can accelerate faster and have an easier time clearing jumps that might otherwise cause issues for a heavier car. It just might be the difference between a spot in the A-main, or sitting in the top of the B-main outside looking in.
