Last week were the 35th 8th nitro Buggy European Championships held in Sacile, Italy just 45 minutes from Venice. I started with my Cobra 2.2 setup from testing their a few month ago. The car worked great from the beginning, just played around with different Proline tires and coumpounds for the changing conditions. The best tire for me was the Suburbs in X2 or Blockade in X2.
Qualifying went good counting a 3rd, 6th and 8th place finish to be 6th overall and 3rd in the semi B. My semi final started out really good as I could keep in 3rd close distance to Davide Ongaro and Robert Battle. A couple laps after the first fuel stop, I got taken out and fall back a few positions. Really hard driving. Luckily I could find my rhythm again and finished 5th to start 9th in the main final.
For the 45 minute final I changed to Blockade X2 tires as I knew from testing they were super good for 45 minutes. Again after couple laps I got taken out and fall back to last position. After that my race was good and worked my way back up to 5th overall. Setting the fastest lap in the main with 37.1sec. Maybe without the crash in the beginning a podium position would have been possible., but all in all I am happy with 5th overall with my Cobra 2.2 buggy.
