Alberto Garcia takes Madrid Championship - Proline Race Report

Some of the best drivers of Spain, including five of the twelve Spanish Finalist Championship drivers, took part in the event.
The defending champion Alberto Garcia powered his Pro-Line outfitted Serpent Cobra811 to get enough points to retain the title for the second year running. This time around he improved the performance and secured the title with one round to go!

The final looked out to be a three horse race between Michael, David and Daniel. The first A-final saw a good start of the top three and they were able to pull away from the others. Halfway in the main David started to lay down some pressure on Michael but was at the same time needed to look in the mirrors to see what Daniel was doing. David tried to go on the inside of Michael out on the straight but touched the curb and rolled, this let Daniel pass David. Michael took A1 followed by Daniel and David. In A2 once again a tight battle between the top three arose, Daniel was losing just a bit of ground on David and Michael as had a great race. David once again laid some pressure on Michael to get him nervous but he was an iceman and hold on to the finish, the separation was 0.6 sec and Daniel finished on a solid third. With Michael already being the winner after the second run the focus for David was to hold Daniel behind. Michael raced the last one for fun. David decided just to follow Michaels pace, Daniel had made some changes on the car for the last one and didn’t feel good with it, but a mistake by David made it possible for Daniel to close in. When it was one minute left David had a gap of 2 sec. and just tried to not make any more mistakes. Daniel pushed hard to pass but it was a bit too late. David was able to hold him behind with a separation of 0.7 sec. It was a great race, fun track and good racing.

tracks across southern California over eight months. His MBX6 Eco powered by the new LRP Dynamic 8 brushless motor combined with the LRP iX8 brushless speed control and Reedy 5500 60C lipos, proved to be unbeatable. Travis would also finish out the series third in expert gas buggy with his MBX6R powered by the new Ninja JX21-B02. Both rides were rolling on AKA rubber.
Frank Root wins the Turkey Cup - JConcepts Race Report
Pro4 – Frank Root had a quick run in the first round to take the early TQ, choosing Green Subcultures for the loamy conditions. As the track started to settle in and most of the loamy dirt was moved out of the line, Frank moved to Green Double Dees front and rear for the 2nd and 3rd qualifiers. Frank had a good run in the second round, but did not improve his run until the 3rd round when he became the only vehicle to run 11 laps! Happy with the Green Double Dee tire choice in qualifying, Root decided to stick with the hot hand for the main events. When the tone went off for A1, Root got off to a great start and put in a clean lap while being chased by a 3 car freight train. Eventually, Frank would pull out a healthy lead, and cruise home for the win. A2 was much of the same, as Frank got a clean start, and stayed mistake free throughout taking the win in A2 by over 15 seconds!

Round 8
In the Expert 1/8th buggy class Adam Drake and Cody King were tied in points, but Drake had the most wins and better throw outs. Former World Champion Atsushi Hara also attended the finals and TQ’ed the buggy class followed by Drake, Amezcua, and King. With the grid set for the final and the championship on the line, current World Champion Cody King would need to win the race due to his throw outs being worse than Drake’s. Hara lead the field of talented drivers, but Drake made a jump pass on the back triple to take the lead on lap one. Drake battle with Hara in the opening minutes, but was able to put a comfortable distance of about 8-10 seconds between himself and Hara. Hara had a servo problem at about the half way point. Drake continued to pull away and checkout on second place Amezcua and third place King eventually putting a lap on the field. The finishing order remained the same with Drake taking the win followed by Amezcua and King. Adam Drake is the 2011 JBRL Nitro Series Champion, Cody King second, and Travis Amezcua finished third.
In the Expert 1/8th Truck class Adam Drake had the championship wrapped up, but still competed in the final race to get more track time. Drake tq’ed both rounds of qualifying and won the final by a large margin. Second went to Jesse Robinson and third place was Matt Schreffler. Adam Drake is the 2011 JBRL Nitro Series Champion, Cody King second, and Jesse Robinson finished third.
Thanks to the entire JBRL and Hot Rot Hobbies staff for making the 2011 JBRL series such a huge success for TLR!
Joor is the RC Pro Series E-Buggy Champ - Tekin Race Report

I would be defending my electric title this year. However, you know how once in a while you just have those races where nothing connects, you break in back to back qualifiers before the buzzer goes, the track feels so good that you just can't help driving like a maniac, and your leading by a large margin with a few laps to go and the car just stops? Yup, that was me at this race. So no matter how hard you try things can still go wrong to the best of us.
I put in a few good runs in electric to get myself into the 3rd qualifying position behind Lutz and Dellinger so I was feeling good about a shot there. Lutz had amazing pace and I could match his average laptimes but he would have 3 or 4 laps that were around a half second faster than his average. So for the mains the RC8.2e was amazing and I had chosen AKA SS Impacts that were almost worn completely down because I had adjusted my setup to remove as much traction as possible. My goal was to get up to Ryan right out the gate and put in my best laps hoping if I could stay in his sights he may make a bobble before he could get into his time warp zone. A1 I had a great start but came up an inch short on the triple right in front of a marshal but another car had wrecked on an earlier jump that had been forgotten so he was trying to yell at another marshal to get him while every car went by. Now in 12th and 13 seconds down from the leader I made it back up to third by 5 minutes in and I was pleased with this because Dellinger was the only one I was in contention for the title with and I had enough lead in points to finish 2 positions overall below him to win. As I get lapped by Lutz, yeah I know! He begins to have some form of electrical issue with his car so I got my embarrassing lap back and start charging to find that Dellinger had lost a rear turnbuckle so with 2 laps to go I take the lead and boy did I need those points and I was glad to take them! In A2 I had a good start and got into second on the first lap but my game plan failed again because Lutz immediately dipped into the 27 second laps but this time our fastest lap were just 3 tenths apart so I was feeling confident I could put pressure on in A3 and finishing 2nd in A2 I had already won the title s o it was all or nothing. A3 I get a great start, move into second on the first lap and hold onto Lutz for the first 3 laps before I wrecked again on the triple losing 10 seconds. From that point I just wanted a 27 second lap and every time I got close I would have to pass someone so I settled with 28.0 again!
Winning the Electric National Title again!!!!

Neumann wins Longfield Six Days - Team Durango Race Report
It was open practice on Saturday and qualifying & finals on Sunday. The race is limited to 80 drivers per event. I used my Speed Passion powered DEX210 in ‘mid motor 4 gear’ configuration. On Saturday I tried a lot with different shock setups, to get the best balance. In the end the harder shock setup was the better choice. My DEX210 was easy to drive and quick. After a couple runs I changed from a 6.5 motor to a Speed Passion 5.5 motor to get more power for some parts of the track. It was the right decision, because laptimes were a little bit faster.
This is another great showing for the powerful combination of the established DEX410 4WD platform and the superb performance of our new DEX210 2WD buggy.
Shay Brand is the SCT Top Dog! - JConcepts Race Report
JConcepts Team Driver, Shay Brand raced the Mod SCT, running JConcepts Double Dees in the first two qualifiers and Bar Codes for the final qualifier. In the 3rd qualifier, Shay was able to get a 10 lap run in, which ended up being the only one of the day out of any class, as well as the fastest lap of 38 seconds.
Before the mains, Shay mounted on a new set of JConcepts Bar Codes in Green Compound and got everything prepped for the race. Shay got off to a bad start but it was a good battle between 1st through 3rd all the way through the race. With about a minute to go Shay was able to take the lead and hold off the rest of the field to come home with the TQ and the Win for Mod SCT, and became crowned the SCT Top Dog in the Mod class.
Jonas easily won his 20-minute semi-final with his new Team Associated RC8.2, but Martin won his semi with a slightly faster run, and thus those two would start first and second in the 45-minute main. Silas would start the main with his Intech car from third on the grid.
During the A Final, Jonas was leading the first thirty minutes, extending his lead to 16 seconds until he started making mistakes on his own. Luckily the car withstood the punishment, but he was eventually overtaken by Martin, who ran a flawless race.
Top 3 in the Championship:
1 Jonas Kaerup/Team Associated on 297 points
2 Silas Hoegholdt/Intech on 282 points
3 Martin Hansen/Xray on 268points
Thanks to Jonas Kaerup for this report.

Friday Practise / Qualification
Programmed were 4 parctise heats and one Qualifier.
In the 1st 2 practise heats my 411 was going really well, even considering the low grip. In run 3 and 4 the grip build up strongly, until the car even started rolling. I was still able to qualify for the fastest heat with 3 fastest laps, but due to the grip the car was a handfull. After the 4th practise I was in the Top-10, but pretty hard to be constant, so need to think about set-up changes.
Heat 1
I had a great pace , and 411 was easy to go fast with, speed was good to stay with the pack. The grip became a lot more quickly. After 2.5 min my 411 rolled after a small steering error, and one more time lateron loosing 5 sec. Without the rolls run was good for 3rd, mmm .....
Heat 2
Like heat 1 first minutes were supergood and fast, but after 3 min. rollig came back. Speed was good for 5th place, but due to rolls I ended lower. Time to make changes.
Heat 3
I changed few things on my 411, but was too much as I lacked steering and could not push, leading to 11th spot only.
Heat 4
Few other changes transformed my 411, and suited the conditions now very well, I ran for a while in 2nd place, but after 4.30 minutes I lost a pin from a front DJC driveshaft and made no result. .
This meant a disappointing 16th overall, and in the B-final, with many other top-drivers, but still not where I planned to be.
I wanted to use the B finals to test few new things on the car, to learn for next events. I already knew the 411 really well for outdoor asfalt, as prooven with the German Champs 2011 win, but need to test more to get the potential from the 411 car on carpet . I changed springs, trackrods front and rear, diff-oil and body. It was ok and easy, but lacked corner speed in the 180 turns and lacked steering, only good enough for 5th place.
B Final 2:
Back to set-up from 4th qualifier, with few small changes and other body. Now I ran even a 12.9 lap which only very few driver reached this ETS event. I could keep the speed well, but some small crashed lead to 5th place only. 411 was now fast and easy, and good to aim, Super.
B Final 3:
For the last run I changed camber rod position rear and the car was again easier and still superfast. This run I could keep same pace as currentWC Naoto and finished in 3rd . with excellent laptimes and no more traction rolls.. Great to have such super 411 car in the end anyway, which gives god hopes for the ETS in Italy in january and the Snowbirds 2012.
