Bayer brothers split second round of Czech Nationals

XRAY XB2 & XB4 full podium at Czech nationals R2

The 2nd round of 1/10 buggy Czech nationals took place last weekend on a beautiful track in Janovice. After more than two years organizers decided to bring 1/10 class back to its roots – clay, for which I owe them my thanks. Home club did amazing job and prepared really amazing track for us, thank you very much!

On Friday we had a free practice where I concentrated more on my driving than on setting my cars as this was my first time ever with XRAY cars on clay. At the end of the day I was quite happy with both cars and was looking forward for qualifications.

In 2wd qualifications Martin Bayer was the fastest man on track as he TQed all three qualifications and so gained overall TQ with my XB2 finishing 2nd in all rounds and Zdenek Miksovsky lining up 3rd for the mains (all three with XB2)!

In 4wd qualifications Bayer brothers (Martin and Ales) were showing nice fights every round. Even though my XB4’16 with Team Orion power worked great, I missed every time a few seconds to the 1st place and finished overall 3rd after qualifications. Martin Bayer gained 2nd TQ of the day with Ales lining up 2nd for the A-mains!

In 2wd finals TOP 3 got quickly away from the rest of the field and had a nice fight every final. The 1st&2nd final the win went to Martin Bayer & his XB2, congratulations! In the last main it was my Orion powered XB2 which finished 1st and overall 2nd!

In 4wd finals Martin, Ales, me and Zdenek Miksovsky had great fights every final. The fastest man among us was Ales Bayer, who managed to take the win with his XB4’16 in all three finals. My Orion powered XB4’16 finished overall 2nd with Martin Bayer finishing 3rd overall. Big congratulations to Ales for the win in 4wd class, first race with XB4’16 on dirt & the first win!

Overall it was a great race, thanks a lot to organisers and home club for such amazing weekend! I am pretty happy with both my XB2 & XB4’16, first race with the cars on dirt and both worked great, already looking forward for the next race on dirt!
