The 2016 ROAR Electric Off-Road Nationals at the Hobbytown USA HobbyPlex in Omaha, NE opened on Friday with the first two of four qualifying rounds, and Team Losi Racing star Dakotah Phend led the way with five round wins in six tries. Phend topped both rounds of Stadium Truck and 4WD Buggy, finished behind teammate Ryan Maifield in the first round of 2WD and then set the fastest time in the second to take the provisional lead in all three divisions he entered. Meanwhile, defending champion Ryan Cavalieri drove his Team Associated SC5M to the best time in both rounds of 2WD Short Course.
