Round 5 was full of surprises and misfortune for some which proved beneficial for others. With bad luck, comes good luck and those who were able to capitalize would get a bonus in today's final round of qualifying as some of the top drivers would encounter misfortune.

Front runner and round 3 TQ, Yokomo's Ronald Volker would encounter an unfortunate situation as he would break a double jointed axle that would force the him to retire early in his qualifier. With Volker being the only capable person to challenge Bruno Coelho for the overall TQ by tie-breaker if he were able to TQ the last 2 rounds, but ultimately he would be denied the opportunity with the mishap in round 5. Another star that who was poised for success and needed round 5 to swing his way was Yokomo teammate, Nicholas Lee. Lee would strip a spur gear at the start of his qualifier leaving him with a DNF.

It was another TQ run for Coelho in round 5 that saw the Portugese start take his 4th TQ out of 5 rounds to cement his overall TQ over the field in dominate fashion. With 2 top drivers out, this opened the door for other drivers to take a few extra points from their misfortune. Not having to contend with Volker for position, Xray's Alexander Hagberg would follow his teammate's footstep and take 2nd for the round giving Hagberg a boost in points for the overall starting grid for tomorrow's triple A-mains.

Infinity's Jilles Groskamp also put in his best performance in round 5 to score a 3rd for the round, but was later DQ'd for not making post tech inspection and failing to make minimum weight. However IFMAR has decided not to disqualify Groskamp after further inspection of the rules which states: Rule 4.0.8 states - "The minimum weight limit, ready to run, is 730,00 gr including transponder. The weight of the car must not be below the weight limit at any time during the race. Race distortion or damage must be disregarded." Therefore, Groskamp's run would count which will help his chances to qualifying for the A-main.
