Race report from Kyle Rhodes (via Facebook):

The 2016 Vintage Offroad Nationals is in the books. For me it wasn't just a three day event. It started two months ago with a track change, wall repair, and facility improvements. This was the 9th running of this event and the 3rd time Wolcott Hobby has hosted it. Its an honor to be apart of this event thanks to Erich Reichert for choosing our facility. Its great to see the support of the event to continue in the vintage community along with younger racers. Between the two days there was a combined 90 entries for the weekend. There were returning racers along with a ton of new entries this year! Thank you to Lester Bastenbeck, Tyler Falcone, Tevin Stan for all there help with getting the track ready and helping prep it throughout the event. Thank you to Gary Guest for coming out and announcing all weekend, Trey Ford for the help in the hobby shop, and most important the racers for coming together once again to race and show everyone just how good the old cars still are to this day. I hope everyone had a good time this year and I can't wait for 2017! As for me and my racing of the event it has been a 7 year hiatus since I wheeled a vintage car. Erich hooked me up with his RC10 Worlds re-release. It was extremely close to box stock. The only upgrades were lunsford TI turnbuckles and an exotek slipper eliminator! That car is absolutely dialed and driving it was the most fun I have had with an electric 2wd buggy in years. That's what this event is all about; having fun. I will definitely be racing it for as long as the event continues. Thanks again everyone who made this race a success!
