Tessmann took both Pro-class nitro victories at Southern Nationals [VIDEO]

Ty Tessmann attended the Southern Nationals at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in Monroe, Louisiana last weekend and earned the Top Qualifier honor in both the Pro Truck and Buggy classes with his HB Racing D815V2 and D8T Tessmann Edition vehicles.

In the Pro Truck final, Tessmann got out front early and led for 8 laps before making a big mistake on the back step-up, which allowed Joe Bornhorst to take over the lead for the next 48 laps - over half of the race distance. Tessmann closed the gap by the half-hour mark and retook the lead, going on to win by over 20 seconds.

Tessmann broke his buggy in warm-up before the 45-minute final but his father, Gord, was able to get it repaired in time to make the start. Tessmann cased the back step-up on the first lap and allowed Cole Ogden to take over the lead, but Ogden hit a pipe on the following lap and Tessman pulled away for an uncontested win.
