Over 200 entries graced the dirt of this weekends BeachRC.com Palmetto Classic at Beach RC and Hobbies. With a fresh layout and newly upgraded pit area the racers were in for quite the treat. The new layout was fast, fun and presented some technicality in a few spots but the overall consensus was overwhelmingly positive.

The racing was great and the competition was all business. Some heavy hitters took to the dirt and laid down some great laps. Local Hot Shot and current Master Of Dirt Griffin Hanna had to join the party late due to some educational responsibilities but got to the track in time to make two rounds in Pro Mod Buggy and race directly into the A but had to play the Bump game in 4wd Mod. After it was all said and done Hanna took the win in 4wd buggy and 4th in Pro 2wd Mod buggy.

Team Associated and BK Servo Factory driver Braydon Obremski seemed to be the favorite early in for Mod 2wd buggy but ended up a close second to Xray/Trinity team member Landon Lewis but still laid it down in 2wd Mod stadium Truck taking the win.

Landon Lewis grabbed the win in the premiere class of 2wd Pro Mod Buggy and a second in 2wd Mod Stadium Truck. He and Brian Lewis were in hand to help all the Proline team drivers as well as any of the racers with tire selections and questions.

Jerry West was the class of the field in 40+ taking the top spot and TQ but that class is not for the weak or faint of heart. West also put his Team Associated B6D in the A-main of Pro Mod Buggy and taking a Top 5.

Patrick Rossiter came in as the favorite in both stock classes but after the bells Rand and the day was over he captured the win in 13.5 4wd Buggy and a close second behind Trinity Team mate Alan Wight in 17.5 2wd Stock Buggy in his Schumacher cars.

Alan Wight made his way up from FL for his first trip to Beach RC and ended up cleaning house in his Trinity Powered B6D. He also put that same stock Buggy in the A-main of Pro Mod 2wd Buggy and ran too 5 most of the race but missed out on a podium position.

Phil Craver not only TQ'd Open Mod 2wd Buggy but he came out on top after 10 mins of battle with Aaron Sikes, Jason Westfall and Brandon Elvis. On a side note. Jason Westfall bumped his way from the C-main to nearly win the A. This was one of the best mains of the night and these drivers show lots of promise for the future of this class.

Kevin Thomas continued his domination in 4wd Short Course at Beach RC as well as come home second in the 2wd Short Course.

Tyler Noon took the Win in 2wd Short Course beating out Katy Carmendy and Kevin Thomas.

And last but not least Emma Hoefle took the win and TQ in the Novice division. This class is showing tons of promise in the future of RC racing. Looks like next time we see Emma she will be running in a Stock Buggy???

Congrats to all the winners and racers!

BeachRC's Brent Densford says, "All in all it was a great weekend. Thank you to all the supporters, racers Alex Birmingham and track crew. You keep me energized and pumped to continue to grow this racing scene and put on events like this every year. The 2017 Masters Of Dirt had been scheduled for October 27-29 so mark your calendars and plan to make that Trip. It's going to epic as usual."
