Sung and Woo won DDK Off-Road Buggy Party in China

Race report from Felix Law:

Due to the Popularity of the 1st RC DDK 1/8th off road buggy Party back in 2016 at Xiamen ARC raceway, the Famous Chinese RC Star Hu Wei Ping put together this Party event in order to promo 1/8th Off road racing within china. With only 2 classes of GP Buggy and EP Buggy, This race event using "Christmas Tree" format in order to make things interesting for racers. And started a trend that was never use in china before.

This race was located at Southern part of china in Dongguan. With a specially made cross over, the XMG is one of the kind off road track in china today. Due to the popularity of the first event, this one attracted more than 80 drivers from all over china, Macau, Taiwan, Malaysia, Korea…… for this 3 days race.

Due to Typhoon around the Taiwan area, the weather was extremely hot. The highest temperature reaches an all-time high of 37 degrees. The Track temperature even reach over 60 degrees. With extreme track condition, The Qualify was insanely challenge for both drivers and their equipment. With the qualify being 10 min long, fuel mileage plus driver's mechanic are equally important. In the end, top 4 drivers were able to move directly into the A final.

In the EP Qualify, The battle was intense, but in the end, it was the Hong kong Driver Liang who took the honor. While 2nd and 3rd separate by a only a few sec, Sheh took the 2nd while Dong Li took 3rd.

One of the Special tradition of this Popular "DDK" Buggy Party was the Beer Drinking. With the final about start, Each driver will need to have a full can of beer before the start of the race. (Of Course, Kid under 18 will not be drinking). But if the driver can't handle the small amount of alcohol, then the Mechanic will have to take the spot for the drink.

In the EP Final, The battle ended with an totally different result than in Qualify (May be due to the Drinking). But Owner of the famous HK HEC hobbies Owner Nelson Woo took the win, while the 3rd qualifier Dong Li finish 2nd and Shenzhen KRC track owner Ken finish 3rd.

In the GP Final, The battle once again wasn't the same fight in the qualify, coming all the way from Malaysia, Ken Sung was able to use his Consistence to take home the win. Xiao Quan, the last "DDK" winner surfer an engine problem and fell back early in the race, but he was still able to recover from the bad luck to finish 2nd. The 2nd place qualifier which had also some bad luck with traffic and was able to recover 3rd by the end of the race.

Since "DDK Buggy Party" main Goal was to build the 1/8th off road market in China, Sponsor Drivers are mainly enter the event as a supporting role to all of the racers and friend, Even though they are about to qualify and race in the final, the result will not court in order to give new racers a chance to get better. For this event, "DDK Buggy Party" will like to special thanks Jade Lim from Malaysia, Kevin Lee from Korea and Lehua Lin from China for the support as the role of Pro drivers to help out everyone in the event.
