Race report from Herts Nitro Model Club:
www.hnmc.co.uk

HNMC GP 2017 Jamie Clancy and Darren Hayden-Ball dominate

Ten years ago the Sandy Nitro Model Club closed its gates and the crew moved onto their new venue Herts Nitro Model Club located at Westmill Farm in Ware Hertfordshire.

At no point did the Club, think it would have achieved the status of one of the best venues/tracks in the UK it was just a dream at the earlier stage.

Since 2008 the club has run an August bank holiday GP event mostly weather effected.

The track has under gone a few changes over the last two months going back to a modular design so they can change things up. Everyone always has an opinion on dirt tracks and their construction, it is quite simple the track evolves over time and in the UK we need to oil the track with vegetable oil to hold it together from the elements. This is the crack with oil, everyone moans in round 1 and 2, then the cars work the oil into the track and from that point on the grip improves track wear over the weekend will be great and makes for great consistent racing. Lastly you need a group of passionate dedicated club members to maintain it, these are the unsung heroes of any RC track we cannot thank you enough.
