JBRL Round 3 SDRC Report:

Tommy Hinz:

Friday was practice from 10am to 8pm. Both cars felt solid after the first run once the tires wore in a little. As the day went on the track became more dry and some drivers decided to put slicks on. I opted away from slicks and ran the same set of Gold Dirtwebs the whole weekend. By the end of the day both cars were awesome and comfortable to drive.

Saturday was racing. Racing started at 9:30 with 2 qualifiers followed by a single main event. I ended up qualifying 4th in 2wd and 2nd in 4wd. When the mains came around I was confident in both classes and I managed to win the 2wd race. However, I drove poorly at the start of the 4wd race and dropped back to the 7th position. Only 5 laps into the race I was about to get lapped. I put my head down and drove as good as I could and managed to get up into third position and in a battle for second with Ron Devoll. When the dust settled I i was about 3 second away from winning, and ended up third.

Thanks to all my sponsors XRay, RC America, Jconcepts, Hobbywing, Hudy, Protek, Stickit1, Sdrc Raceway, Walden Designs.

Austin Zeppin:

JBRL Round 3 at SDRC Raceway was a blast, had the pace all weekend long, Was able to snatch a round 2 TQ in 4wd where I would lead the main Tone to Tone never looking back securing the win. As for 2wd I Struggled in qualifying ending up 6th on the grid. I was able to avoid some early wrecks in the first lap of the main getting up to second. I dug deep and pushed very hard, after Wayne Wyrick had a mistake I took the race lead and was able to push through to the end for the win. Great event along with great teamwork with the XRAY guys. Both the XB2 and XB4 are getting better and better each time I hit the track.

Thanks again for all the help and support.
