The 2011 Racing season has kicked off around the world, and race reports are arriving from all over. THECar seems to be going better and better after the somewhat rocky start, in the colder climate zones. Here is a summary of some of the recent success!
Venezuela
Christian Romanelli: This was a good weekend for JQ Products. We managed to achieve a 2nd and 4th places in the A Main. It was a difficult race day since we started with a wet track and finished with a very dry and dusty one. THE Cars worked flawlessly during the whole race and we managed to achieve 2nd (Chris Romanelli) and 4th (Ricardo Dorta) in the A main, if it wasn't for Dorta's flame out we would achieve 2nd and 3rd place .
Korea
2nd Ryan Lee, 3rd DJ Park - JQ Products
Ryan Lee: I attended a race called RC Pro League heat 3 last Sunday. I qualifiied 23rd due to I DNF in two Qualification, so I started the race in a difficult position. I bumped up in 1st by one lap to Second guy in C main, I bumped up in 1st by one lap again to Second guy in B main. In 60minutes Final, I was leading the race by 15seconds to Second(the winner of the race) until 25minutes, but my mechanic called me for refuel little bit late so I flamed out. I started from 4th but I finished in second by less than one lap to the winner Hwang Sunyoung. I changed only clutch bearings before Amain final, my car was fastest in A-main final. DJ Park also did a great job of his first podium(finished third) with the car. So THECar gets 2nd and 3rd place in Korea!
Thailand
Boy Witsarut wins once again in Thailand, and Jay P makes main, making it 2 JQ Cars in the A Main at the recent New RC Local race. Boy has quickly started to become famous in Thailand for his consecutive wins, and has featured amongst other places, in the Thai RC Magazine RCCore.
Greece
1st Gabriel Ferlachidis - JQ Products
Gabriel Ferlachidis: After two races with THECar, it has run flawless for me. Arriving at the track on Saturday THECar immediately felt really good, after a few tweaks on my setup I was able to be really fast in this difficult track.I was able to set the TQ round on Sunday, 5 secs ahead of the second driver on the grid, when the flag dropped for the final i made a lead of 5 secs, eventually at the end of the race I managed to be two laps ahead (!) from the rest of the field. THECar ran flawlessly ,consistently and fast, with more than 30 liters through it.
Australia
2nd Place Aaron Stringer - JQ Products
Mark and Aaron Stringer: The Sunshine Coast Off Road Club hosted Round 1 of the Valley Raceway Twilight Outlaw Series on the 14th May. This was to be a day/night meet that attracted all of QLD's top drivers (over 50 drivers in total). The club had brought in 5 massive lighting towers to ensure that night turned to day literally!!!!! Qualifying was 4 rounds of 7min with all 4 to count. The organisers had also decided that there would be no bumps allowed in the finals, so with all 4 rounds to count consistency would be the key. After 4 rounds of qualifying Aaron was in 2nd position for the A-Main. THE Car performed faultlessly for all 4 rounds with no issues what so ever in temps ranging from 25 degrees to 6 degrees!!
A-Main
The A-Main drivers list was full of big names and with only a 15min time final we knew it would be all out sprint. Aaron got off to a great start and was in 2nd position after the first lap and hard on the heels of first. For the first 3 minutes you could have thrown a blanket over 1st and 2nd. After a couple of really tight laps Aaron took the lead after the leading car made a mistake. Aaron took about a 10 second lead across the line, however, a couple of bobbles and 2nd and 3rd were back on his tail. In the end, Aaron took second place about 14 seconds behind 1st (both 1st and 2nd put a lap on the field). Overall THE Car was superb and Aaron set the fastest lap of the whole event.
