Victories in all classes – the LRP team celebrates a phenomenal weekend in Luxembourg! Ronald Völker (Modified), Marek Cerny (Pro Stock) and Olivier Bultynck (Formula 1) rule ETS round 5.

The fifth round of the ETS 2013/14 was held at the demanding “Ville de Luxembourg” circuit of the Luxembourg Model Car Club. Unique track with the famous Laguna Seca corner, perfect organisation, modern facilities, sunny weather with more than 30°C and the best drivers attending – everything was ready for a race to remember.

The internationally coloured LRP team was on site with all its top drivers. Germany’s Ronald Völker didn’t leave his competitors in the Modified class any chance. With a clean 4/4 in qualifying, Ronald secured TQ honours in style ahead of Marc Rheinard and Lucas Urbain. And he continued to stand out also in the A-finals. A1 saw an early attack of Marc Rheinard on the leader but Ronald was able to stay on top and win with about 0.8s on Marc on second and reigning World Champion Jilles Groskamp in third. So, Ronald Völker would “only” need to take another final to win the race and secure also the 2014 title in the ETS Modified class. Similar to the first run, Ronald was under considerable pressure in the opening laps of A2. Being a real champion, Ronald kept cool and regained control over the race. He crossed the finish line first – again ahead of Marc Rheinard. Lucas Urbain finished third. With Ronald Völker sitting out the last final, Marc Rheinard came in first to secure second place overall ahead of Jilles Groskamp (third overall) and Viktor Wilck.
LRP / Yokomo driver Ronald Völker took his third victory of the season, resulting in his fourth consecutive ETS title. With three victories, a second place and a third place, none of his competitors can catch up on him in the final round.

Once again, the combination of Ronald’s outstanding skills, his perfectly working Yokomo car and the great LRP Flow speedo,LRP Vector X20 4.5T motor and LRP LiPo Competition Car Line 6000 battery proved to be unbeatable. These were the settings of the champion:
LRP Flow WorksTeam with v.4.7 firmware and 3-2-2-2-2-3-3-6-0-1 setting.
LRP Vector X20 4.5T with 27.5° timing and 12.0mm rotor (#50636).

Ronald’s teammate Loic Jasmin was the second LRP driver in the final. He showed a strong performance over the whole weekend, finished overall sixth and won the “Dash for Cash” (together with Lucas Urbain).

The thrills that were maybe missing in the Modified class were all packed into the Pro Stock competition. Czech Xray / LRP driver and defending ETS Pro Stock champion Marek Cerny was the more than happy and well deserved winner in the end. But it was a long way for Marek. After having secured the TQ spot ahead of Lars Hoppe and Mike Gosvig, Marek seemed to be the favourite. But then everybody was riveted by an epic 3x 5-minute battle between Marek and Lars Hoppe. A1 went to Lars, while Marek Cerny was able to strike back in A2. So, the victory had to be decided in the last final. Marek made a small mistake allowing Lars to pass. The race continued with both cars racing body to body several times. With only a few laps to go, Lars hit the curbs giving Marek the chance to recapture the lead. Marek Cerny kept cool and crossed the finish line first. The overall ranking saw Marek Cerny ahead of Lars Hoppe in second and Martin Hofer in third. But the thrills in the Pro Stock class will continue in the last round of the ETS. With his second victory of the season, Marek is now tied on points with Jan Ratheisky who had a so-so weekend and only finished eighth.

Last but not least, LRP also was able to celebrate the victory in the Formula 1 class. Belgian LRP driver Olivier Bultynck came out on top. Starting from the second position, Olivier drove to a clean 3/3 victory in the A-finals. In A1, he finished first almost one second ahead of TQ driver David Ehrbar. A2 and A3 saw Olivier Bultynck winning over overall Formula 1 class leader Jan Ratheisky and David Ehrbar. This was also the order on the podium. Olivier Bultynck is now overall second in the ETS Formula 1 class.

Marek Cerny and Olivier Bultynck rely on the LRP LiPo Competition Car Line batteries for their racing. Their continuous success underlines that LRP batteries are the perfect choice for racing in Stock classes.

Three classes – three victories! And Ronald’s fourth overall title in a row in continuous competition with the best drivers! What can we say more? Just “Wow!” & “Congratulations!”
