The two fastest drivers of the weekend, Dakotah Phend and Ty Tessmann, won their semifinals convincingly to secure spots in the 60-minute championship final. Due to the IFMAR qualifying format for 1/8-scale buggy, no one was guaranteed to make the final out of qualifying - all cars were separated into two ladders, Odd and Even, and had to race their way in. The top six buggies from each semi are locked in, and the remaining three are selected by fastest finishing time. The starting grid is also set by finishing time, placing importance not only on finishing position in the semis but overall speed as well.
