Press release from MSCS:

2014 Michigan State Championship Series - Round #4, June 28, 2014

Round 4 of the Michigan State Championship series proved to be our biggest race to date with 181 entries! The MSCS would like to thank Kevin Meyers and the Stateline crew in Fremont Indiana, literally right on the Michigan and Indiana border for providing us with a great track and facility. With some of the best drivers in the Midwest in attendance, racing was close in all classes and mains. Nearly halfway through the second round of qualifying Mother Nature struck with thunderstorms. The rain only delayed us for a few hours and we quickly resumed the second round of qualifying and then began the mains. Kevin’s crew, track designer Tyler Whitaker, and many racers all stepped in and helped prepare the track after the rain. The seemed to help groove the track up and by the mains drivers had to be careful no to traction roll as they pushed their cars on the high-speed layout.

1/8 Nitro Buggy
The nitro buggy class was extremely competitive as usual. Top Qualifier Dakotah Phend took the win followed by Collin Weatherholt and Derek Weatherholt. Zac Rose finished fourth just 14 seconds behind Derek. Michael Weihl rounded off the top five.
