Press release from LRP:

Marek Cerny defends his ETS Stock title!
Ronald Völker had already secured the overall victory in the Modified class in round 5. Now, also Marek Cerny defended his title in the Stock class. By winning the last race, Olivier Bultynck finished overall second in the Formula 1 class.

Great atmosphere and fantastic weather conditions at the final of the Euro Touring Series 2013/14 in Trencin, Slovakia! 240 drivers from all over Europe had travelled to the home track of Xray. Racers and spectators enjoyed a high-class race weekend. In the Stock class, it was Xray/LRP team driver Marek Cerny who secured the overall victory with an outstanding driving performance. Marc Rheinard and Viktor Wilck put a thrilling duel onto the track in the Modified class. Defending champion Ronald Völker ended the ETS season with a third place on the Podium.

In the Modified class, two Tamiya drivers were in the thick of the action. Marc Rheinard and Viktor Wilck fought a tight duel over all three days of the event. The qualifying saw triple World Champion Marc Rheinard finishing on the TQ spot ahead of Viktor and Ronald.

The story of the final is rapidly told. Starting from the third position, Ronald tried to break into the Tamiya phalanx but the two leaders were just that decisive bit faster over the whole weekend. By winning A-finals 1 and 2, Marc Rheinard didn’t only win the race in Slovakia, he also took the overall second place in the seasons’ ranking. Viktor had to settle for the second place in A1 and A2 but as Marc decided to sit out the last final, he took the chance to win the last run of the season to secure the second place on the podium in Trencin. Overall champion Ronald Völker headed the rest of the field and finished third. Jilles Groskamp – third in the overall ETS ranking – took the fourth place.

The other LRP powered drivers did also really well. Loic Jasmin and Viljami Kutvonen qualified for the A-final. Loic finished sixth and Viljami tenth. Olivier Bultynck and Steven Weiss fought in the B-final. Freddy Südhoff had a so-so qualifying. He consoled himself by clearly winning the C-final.

Yokomo/LRP team driver Ronald Völker rounded up an extremely strong ETS season with a third place in Trencin. The combination of Ronald’s outstanding driving skills, a perfectly working Yokomo chassis and the powerful LRP electronics combo consisting of LRP Flow WorksTeam, LRP Vector X20 4.5T and LRP LiPo Competition Car Line battery proved to be the key factor for winning his fourth title in a row. Congratulations one!
Ronald’s setting at the final in Trencin:
LRP Flow WorksTeam with v.4.7 firmware and 3-2-2-2-2-4-4-6-0-1 setting.
LRP Vector X20 4.5T with 27.5° timing and 12.5mm rotor (#50637).

Thrills in the Stock class! Xray/LRP team driver Marek Cerny still had the chance to defend last years’ title – even though Jan Ratheisky was in the lead before round 6 in Trencin. But Marek proved to be focussed and in top shape from the beginning: he TQed ahead of Kuba Simurda and David Nemcek. In the A-finals, Marek kept also cool. By winning all of the three runs, he secured the victory in Trencin and his second overall ETS Stock class title in a row. Congratulations two!

The second and third places went to David Nemcek and Kuba Simurda. So, the complete podium was powered by LRP LiPo Competition Car Line batteries. In the complete A-main line-up, it even was a total of six out of ten drivers.

While he had to settle for the B-final in the Modified class, Belgian LRP team driver Olivier Bultynck pushed hard in the Formula 1 class. Starting from the second position behind TQ driver David Ehrbar and ahead of Jan Ratheisky, Olivier drove to clear victories in A-finals 1 and 2. With this great success in Trencin ahead of Jan and David, Olivier could celebrate the overall second place in the Formula 1 class of the ETS season behind Jan Ratheisky. Congratulations three!

Three classes – two victories in the final! Overall victories for Ronald Völker (Modified) and Marek Cerny (Stock). A second place overall for Olivier Bultynck in the Formula 1 class. And all this against the best drivers! Many thanks to all of you and also to all other team drivers for a great and successful season!
