2014 Nor-Cal Pro Series
July 26th, 2014 was the conclusion of the Nor-Cal Pro Series hosted by Nor-Cal Hobbies, recently relocated to San Jose, CA. The top 2wd Buggy contestants ran 2 weekends of a double A Main format for a chance to get part of a $2000 prize purse.
This past weekend, race 2 had Charlie Cavalier on the pole position, with Tyler Vik second and Nor-Cal’s own Codey Hughey qualifying 3rd on the grid. With a more racy layout, Vik would take a decisive victory in A1, with Eddie Bernal a distant 2nd, Hughey 3rd. Eddie Bernal would have to win A2 and distance himself from Vik for a shot at 1st for the series. At the tone Cavalier would take the holeshot. A few corners later Vik made a questionable pass on Cavalier for the lead. An infraction would be called, but then revoked. Hughey would finish second, with Eddie Bernal 3rd.
Race 1 also had an exciting finish with a tie for first. Eddie Bernal and Tyler Vik both had a win and a second with the tie breaker going to Mr. Vik. Nathan Bernal finished 3rd overall to complete the podium.
