Race report from XRAY:

XRAY NT1 wins Nordic Championship Örebro
This race was held in Örebro, Sweden by Örebro RBC. There was three classes. 1:8th Track, 1:10th 200mm Nitro Touring and 1:10 Electric Modified.

The weather was sunny and warm all weekend, except some rain during Saturday night, but in the end everything was driven in dry conditions.
The track is pretty big, and very fast. With a really long straight and full throttle corners. But also some quite challenging corners where it’s easy to make costly mistakes.

Qualification:
1:10 Nitro: After four rounds of qualifying XRAY driver Markus Hellquist had the fastest qualification round ahead of Mugen driver Andreas Husman, followed by XRAY driver Mickael Brandt in third. The qualification rounds lasted for five minutes and due to the very high speed track some drivers chose to pit during qualifying.

1:8 Track: The fastest lap times was pretty close in the top 10. But after the qualifying Marcus Lindner managed to take the TQ. As well as in 1:10th, many drivers struggle to make the five minutes without a fuel stop.
Finals:
1:10 Nitro: During the start procedure first placed driver Markus Hellquist’s engine stopped and he started last from the pits. This opened up for Andreas Husman to get free way forward and grab a small gap back to Frank, and then the rest of the field. Hellquist moved up through the field very quick and in 5 laps he was back to third, with a few seconds gap to Frank. Meanwhile it wasn’t much, Hellquist was a few tenths faster each lap and managed to catch up and pass just after the first fuel stop. It was still tight, because while Andreas Husman refueled every 4.30 minutes, Hellquist was on a 4 minutes strategy, meaning he would need one more fuel stop. Markus was just a tad faster and slightly more consistant and the gap slowly got bigger and bigger and in the end he was able to win a couple of laps ahead of Andreas, and Frank another couple of laps behind.

  7. Mickael Brandt - XRAY NT1

1:8 Track: This final was more dramatic, Markus Lindner pulled away in the beginning, and everything looked really good until his car broke and he had to retire about ten minutes in to the race. From there Mattias Ericsson took over the lead, ahead of Lars Haugen and Markus Hellquist. From there everyone was on different fuel stop and tire change strategies, so there was not much tight racing involved, even though it was very close between the cars.  When the clock did hit 45 mintues, Mattias Ericsson won and had about one lap down to Markus Hellquist in second, and Lars Haugen seven seconds further behind in third.
