Race report from JQ Racing:

Rayan Medjoubi wins French Nats rd5!

JQRacing Factory Team driver Rayan Medjoubi wins the penultimate round of the French national championship! Here is a report from Rayan:

The last round of the French nationals was held at the nice track of Savigny Le Temple, during the weekend of September 13-14. The race went great for me, in detail:

Saturday:

5 rounds of qualifying were done, Reno Savoya and Jerome Aigoin were missing but there was a strong attendance of other fast drivers like Yannick Aigoin, Jerome Sartel, JQP Sartel, Lorenzo Crolla, Jo Bacro, Guillaume Hebert, Tom Robin etc. The track was very difficult, bumpy and high traction, a difficult mix of conditions to have your car setup properly! During the practice rounds things were difficult because of the very challenging track, I made quite a few setup changes on my car and in the end it was perfect for qualifying. After 5 rounds of qualifying I was standing second on the grid behind Yannick Aigoin, car was getting faster and faster each round, giving me confidence for the result.

The track of Savigny Le Temple, fast and technical but can be hard to get your car set up properly!

Sunday:

The track was hard to drive on, the more cars were running, the more difficult it got. I started in pole position in the Semi B, in front of Renaud Monin and Jerome Sartel. Driving safe I crossed the line first after the 20 minute race. This would have me starting 3rd in the main final behind Yannick Aigoin and Tom Robin. After the start of the race I made quite a few mistakes and lost places but I quickly recovered back to 4th, many drivers retired from the race because of breakages and flameouts, as the race went on I got in the second spot with a fairly easy drive behind Lorenzo Crolla, after a 15 minute of great battle Lorenzo made a lot of mistakes and kept it together and went home with the win!

Rayan's JQRacing THECar powered by REDS engines equipped with AKA tires on the way to the win!

Conclusion:
  • THECar was very fast and easy to drive during qualifying and final
  • No issues throughout the weekend (no breakages, flameouts)
  • REDS R7 Evoke worked flawlessly
  • AKA Tires provided great, consistent grip
Special Thanks to Slimane, man of few words and great mechanic, for his help!

Thank you to JQRacing for providing me with the best!
