Race report fro 702 RC Raceway:
We had an awesome Toys for Tots event this year, our biggest one to date.
The 5th Annual Kings Hawaiian Toys for Tots Race was a huge success. We met our goal of 500+ toys this year! Final toy count was 525 toys donated by all the generous racers that were in attendance. Thanks to our title sponsor Kings Hawaiian Bakery, top 10 as well as TQ's in each class took home hardware. 88 pieces of hardware were awarded at our event this year. Racer raffle was the biggest ever thanks to our racer raffle sponsors, Kings Hawaiian, Team Associated, JConcepts, Jgo Paintz, AKA, Racers Edge, Pro-Line, Schelle, Airtronics, and FastLap Indoor Karting.
Oscar Spratley took home a custom-painted body as the driver who brought the most toys to the race - he brought 161 gifts!
702 RC Raceway crew and the Toys for Tots organization would like to thank everyone for making this year one to remember!
Big Winner in the 2 most heated classes was young gun Tommy Hinz from Arizona. Hinz took the TQ and win in 4wd Buggy with his Associated B44.3 and the new Reedy Blackbox speed control. In Expert 2wd Buggy, Hinz ran his B5M also running the new Reedy Blackbox speed control, had the TQ after round 1, but in round 2 got edged out by another young gun Broc Champlin from St George, UT. But in the main Hinz ran a flawless race, kept a smooth steady pace, and ended up taking the win. Tommy would like to thank his mom and dad for all their support and sponsors: 702 RC Raceway, Team Associated, Reedy, JConcepts, StickIt1 Racing, Airtronics, MIP, and SRS.
