With just two rounds of 2WD to go when Day Two kicked off Saturday morning, many of the drivers in contention for top ten spots responded with frantic urgency - and many made unforced errors that cost them valuable points by the end of the heat. The Day One points leader may have escaped with some luck, and the defending champ finally caught a break, but the biggest surprise came from a total underdog.

Former champ Dustin Evans got the holeshot in heat one, but Jared Tebo was the biggest mover - he moved from tenth on the grid to fifth on the first lap. Just 40 seconds into the race, Evans crashed in the infield and Barry Baker assumed the top spot. One minute later, Evans crashed on the triple and dropped to fourth behind Chad Due and Billy Easton. Halfway through the race, Baker spun out at the end of the straightaway and Due got by, but then Due crashed on the doubles on the left side, then again coming onto the straight, and gave it right back with Easton to second and King to third. With 4:15 left, King crashed on the left side of the track and dropped to fourth. A big pile up on the final coming coming onto the back straightaway allowed Jared Tebo to third and Travis Amezcua to fourth, dropping King to fifth.

Drew Moller got the holeshot from inside row one, with David Ronnefalk following him from row two into the second spot ahead of Karri Salmela in the first corner. Ronnefalk came up short on the right side double on the first lap, however, and dropped behind Richards and Cavalieri. Halfway through the race, Richards crashed on the triple and allowed Cavalieri to second after playing incredible defense. Richards crashed again at the finish line and Ronnefalk got by for third. At the 3:15 mark, Moller crashed on the left side doubles and Cav moved to the lead, but he crashed on the right side double the following lap and Moller got back by. With just 35 seconds to go, Moller spun out at the end of the straightaway and Cavalieri got by for the win.

Carson Wernimont got the holeshot ahead of Dakotah Phend and Ryan Maifield, leaving Brian Kinwald out to dry on lap one. Two minutes into the race, Phend in the pipe going through the sweeping left-hand corner in the infield and dropped to fourth, letting Maifield and Hartson by for second and third. At 3:15, Wernimont crashed coming onto the straightaway and Maifield took the lead, but Carson landed on his wheels and maintained second. With one minute to go, Wernimont crashed over the LiveRC lumps after the first corner and Hartson got to second, then on the last lap Wernimont crashed coming onto the straightway and allowed Phend to take third.
