Unexpected delays in Thursday’s program forced a revamped schedule pushing the third rounds of Pro Electric Buggy to Friday morning, but it also caused the second round to be run much later in the day than normal. The drivers had to adapt to the colder weather and differing track conditions, and three drivers did that better than anyone else - completing twelve laps over the course of the seven minute qualifying run.

“I had an early mistake in the whoops section but after that I ran pretty good,” said David Ronnefalk, who switched to the new D815 Worlds Edition wing mount and from an Upgrade plastic wing to a Lexan Trifecta from Pro-Line. “The car was a little bit lighter in the back,” said Ronnefalk, “and it felt like it had more traction. It jumped a little bit worse, but had more corner speed.” The Swedish driver also ran Super Soft AKA Chainlinks instead of Super Soft Catapults, which he said had a lot of forward traction and made his Tekno-converted buggy really easy to drive. “I was surprised,” he said.

“I drove a little bit conservative at the start and tried to pick up the pace a little bit at the end,” said Ty Tessmann, who finished about 1.8 seconds behind his new HB-HPI Racing teammate. Having made no changes before the second round, Tessmann said he may run thinner shock oil on Friday morning to suit weather changes.

Running a Kyosho MP9e TKI, AMain.com’s Austin Blair crashed early in the race on the 90-degree corner after the whoops but had a clean run after that. “My car was really good - very stable,” said Blair, who said he will switch from Soft to Super Soft AKA Impacts if he has time to mount them before his third round.
