The first 43-plus minutes of the incredible Dirt Nitro Challenge finale saw four different leaders that looked strong enough to run away - including defending champion Ty Tessmann, who suffered an unfortunate electronics failure with about ten minutes to go. Heading into the closing laps, the battle for the win came down to two former teammates in the latest episode of the closest rivalry of the last ten years. Ryan Maifield, the hometown favorite in front of hundreds of spectators (and thousands of viewers on our streaming broadcast), including family and friends, took advantage of an opening from Ryan Cavalieri to make a pass and held on by less than seven-tenths of a second to win his second major title in 2015.
