Truhe and Twilling top the Novak Race

This weekend was the 2015 Novak Off Road Race at the HobbyPLEX in Omaha, Nebraska. With well over 200 entries, all of the classes were packed with talented drivers from all over the Midwest.

Qualifying went well in Modified 4wd buggy, as I was able to get a 2nd in round 1, TQ round 2, and a 2nd in round 3. This left a tie between TLR driver Alex Sturgeon and I. Alex Sturgeon got overall TQ on the tie-breaker by a couple seconds. Going into Double-A Mains, Alex Sturgeon was going to start 1st, with me, and young Team Associated driver Tom Rinderknecht 3rd. A-1, I was able to follow Sturgeon, until he finally made a mistake about 3 minutes into A-1, giving me the lead. I was able to pull away, and take the win in A-1, with Team Associated driver Chad Karstens 2nd, and Tom Rinderknecht 3rd. A-2, I again followed Sturgeon until he came up short on the large Double-Double in the back, and I was able to get around for the lead. with about 1 minute to go, Sturgeon closed the gap, with me cruising to minimize mistakes. With a slight bobble, Sturgeon got around me, and ended up taking the win in A-2, and I finished 2nd. This gave me the Overall Win in 4wd buggy, with a win in A-1, and 2nd in A-2!! Overall a Great weekend! My Team Associated B44.3 and B5M were amazing to drive! And running JConcepts Gold Bar Codes front and Dirt Webs rear, with Dirt-Tech Inserts, gave my B44.3 the speed to win!

Team Associated/JConcepts had a great showing in the Mod classes, with multiple drivers on the podium, in 2wd Buggy, 4wd Buggy, and Stadium Truck. This race was a lot of fun to be apart of, and would for sure recommend attending next year.
