Silly Season 2022: Jones and VanDalen Engine Changes

It is time for our official 2022 silly season article to begin. Click here to find out what we know as soon as we know it about some of your favorite drivers.

David Ronnefalk:
With his Awesomatix signing it appears Infinity is out of the question. Look for David's entire lineup to change, he hasn't had a tire sponsor for years and Performa is a brand linked with HB Racing so his engines and electronics will likely change also.

Update: I'm no rocket scientist, but the newest video update gives Mayako vibes so maybe the WC will be moving over to the new brand on the block.

Update #2: David Ronnefalk and The No Name Podcast have decided to shake up the internet this Monday morning with the announcement that David is heading to Mayako.

Tyler Jones:
Tyler Jones posted a photo with a blurred out engine head recently on facebook which is either an OS Adam Drake engine or a Protek Samurai.

Seth VanDalen:
Seth was spotted at the Tekno RC Winter Series this past weekend with an Ultimate engine in his car.

The Maxima Downfall:

Jared Tebo:
Jared has already been linked to Nitro Pro through his JTP servos so it wasn't surprising to see his new JTP fuel made by Nitro Pro. Jared has also been seen testing Reds Engines but nothing is official.

Maclan Racing also released Tebo earlier this year and as of today, (November 30th) he has signed with Team Tekin Racing.

Ryan Cavalieri:
Cavalieri announced last month that he will be running for TNR Fuels, and as of yesterday (November 29th), he has signed with Ielasi Engines to run the OS based power plants tuned by Mr. Ielasi.

Ryan Maifield:
Maifield has made no official announcements but has been seen running VP Fuels and Protek engines going as far as holding the VP fuels jug on the podium at AMS.

Spencer Rivkin:
Rivkin hasn't been seen running anything other than his MX engines but seemingly will be moving over to VP Fuels just like Maifiel

Robert Battle:
Robert made his announcements early but will be running Gimar engines and Nitrolux fuel going forward.

Joe Bornhorst:
Rumor has it that Joe Bornhorst will not be returning to Tekno RC and will be moving over to either HB Racing or Sworks for 2022.

Marco Baruffolo:
Marco has essentially shook up his entire lineup for 2022. The former Team Xray/FX driver has announced that he will be running for Reds Racing. The former Hot Race frontrunner will now be using 6mik tires.

Marco has been linked to either Tekno RC or Sworkz for a chassis for next year.

Ryan Lutz:
It is also rumored that Lutz will not be returning to WRC Racing for 2022 and we have no word on where he will be going.

Kyle Mcbride:
Kyle is back on the free agent market after a very short time with Tekno RC.
