After Tuesday’s story of Sean Catucci’s incredible backyard track in Northern California and sharing his plan to host a race on New Year’s Day, a message hit LiveRC’s Facebook page inbox sharing information about a very worthy contender for the arbitrary title of “coolest backyard track ever.”

My first reaction to the photos was a eye-gaping "wow."

Michèl Guggisberg of Toggenburg, Switzerland began building his track, which he calls “Offroad Devilz,” in March of 2014 with the help of two fellow RC enthusiasts. The group needed more than just shovels and elbow grease to create their vision of the ultimate private RC course - they brought out some heavy machinery.

Rather than being tucked neatly into a suburban backyard, Offroad Devilz is carved into a large hillside and covered in astroturf. The crew had a wonderful view to enjoy while working.

Guggisberg said that construction took about 6 months, and the track maintains a 3-meter lane width and about a 20-meter elevation change over its 210-meter-long lap. Like Catucci, Guggisberg also documented the build and track improvements on social media as he maintains an Offroad Devilz Facebook page. The track is open to visitors by appointment, with drivers under 16 admitted for free while older drivers are asked for a small fee which Guggisberg donates to local animal welfare organizations.
