A LiveRC reader with quick thumbs snapped a couple photos of Team Associated design engineer and two-time IFMAR Worlds finalist Kody Numedahl testing the B64D at OCRC Raceway yesterday. I heard rumors of the car (well, likely both the B64D and still-upcoming carpet version) being tested at various tracks around the southwestern U.S., but it makes sense that the AE engineering staff would make use of the three-time Reedy Race of Champions host facility - after all, it's only about 25 miles away from Team Associated headquarters.

Action photos are difficult to take with a cell phone, especially indoors, but our spy noted the car was definitely the B64 4WD buggy - wearing a bright-red body. Though I'm sure a handful of the company's team drivers - like three-time 4WD World Champion Ryan Cavalieri and reigning 2WD title-holder Spencer Rivkin - have logged laps with the car, Numedahl himself is more than capable of putting the car to the test.

Here's another shot from the pit area, with Kody talking to Associated team manager Brent Thielke and fellow design engineer Aaron Lane about the car, while Kody's girlfriend Morgan looks on. There's a laptop, tools, a Reedy 1216-C2 charger, a bunch of parts, even a shock oil bottle on the table - there was a lot of testing and tuning going on that day. There's even a drink cooler on the left!

Numedahl, who was first sponsored by AE a decade ago, has played a pivotal role in Team Associated off-road development since joining the engineering staff in 2012 - helping to design the B5/B5M, T5M, SC5M, RC8B3 (and RC8B3e), RC8T3, B6/B6D, and now the B64. I'll try to get an interview with him next week!
