Swiss RC retail site WEMU RC ScaleShop (www.wemushop.ch) posted photos of a prototype scale rig that Traxxas quietly displayed in its booth at the Nuremburg Toy Fair. The crawler is topped with a Land Rover Defender 110-style body with fender liners, light bar, and other scale details - and if recent Traxxas releases are any indication, the design could be officially licensed in time for its release.

The ladder-style chassis holds the motor and battery - which is retained with a quick-release strap - in the center. The motor is wrapped with a production-looking-sticker that says “Titan 21T Reverse Rotation,” suggesting it’s derived from the standard 550-size offering found in other Traxxas RTR’s but built for added torque (and to spin in the opposite direction). The truck is equipped with three mini-servos, most likely to perform the same functions as those found in the Summit - to lock the front and rear differentials as well as operate a high-low transmission. The truck is also equipped with portal axles for additional ground clearance.

An official announcement is expected soon.
