Everybody knows that Friday is meant for reminiscing old times. Each week we take you back in time as we flashback to some of R/C racing's greatest moments, products, drivers, and more!
 

As the 2018 IFMAR Electric On-Road World Championships from Welkom, South Africa are winding down, we flashback to the last time these World Championships were held in South Africa sixteen years ago in 2002. The 2002 edition was held outdoors in Krugersdorp, South Africa. 

The 1/12-scale division was won by none other than Masami Hirosaka, however, it was Surikarn Chaidajsuriya who would capture the 2002 1/10-scale touring car title.
