We have received word today that Team Orion has taken legal action against several competing LiPo battery manufacturers around the globe. The news was made public via our friends at Virtual Racing Industries as they announced the removal of several battery packs from the VRC Pro Simulator due to the situation.

The following battery packs have been removed from VRC Pro due to legal action taken by Team Orion:

- GM LiPo 7.4V 5400 50C
- Kypom LiPo 7.4V 5700 50C
- Speed Power LiPo 7.4V 5300 45C

Virtual Racing Industries says, "The legal action taken by Team Orion is about the carbon look design and the rectangular shape and pin positions of the LiPo battery pack, apparently they registered this widely used model back in 2008 with the European design registration office.

Although we have explicit written permission from the respective brands to use these models for VRC Pro, we have decided to inactivate these components. We assume that Team Orion is taking legal action against all manufacturers of similar looking and/or shaped battery packs!"

With that being said, of all the things we could imagine causing legal issues among competing companies, the appearance of batteries was not one of them.
