This is Tekin's first year as the title sponsor of the International Indoor Championships, but they've been involved since the forming years of the hottest race on the strip. Part of their headlining deal with this year's race was to provide the motor and speed control combos that ensure a level playing field for the Spec Grand Touring division, and the electronics marquee went all out to ensure parity among competitors.

Tekin tore down and matched 80 different motors to find the absolute closest they could find with rewards to the stator's KV rating, rotor strength, and overall resistance. They then dialed the endbells to same timing on each motor, and marked the assembly screws with nail polish to make for easy tech inspection.

These motors are paired with the RS Spec Gen2, which has all of Tekin's awesome data logging features and easy setup, but has no timing or boost potential.

Tekin team manager Randy Pike has been providing tech support for all Tekin users at IIC, but it's particularly helpful for the Spec Grand Touring class drivers. By using the data logging feature, Randy can show the racers how well their cars' electronics performed throughout the run - which is particularly helpful for finding battery packs performing below expectations. Every driver in the class is limited to a 4.5:1 final drive ratio or higher, but analyzing the RS Spec Gen 2's data has revealed some very interesting information for many of the racers who've found out that their lap times on the tight and technical course have improved when gearing slightly lower - around 4.7-4.8.
