This photo of a piece of paper allegedly taped to the front-facing windows of Hobbytown USA's indoor Scottsdale R/C Speedway in Phoenix, AZ circulated Facebook over the weekend, showing the facility's plan to charge non-racing spectators to enter - $5 for each qualifying day and $10 for the finals on Sunday, or a $15 weekend pass. The paper to the left also states that anyone bringing food from outside the facility will be charged $2 each.
The photo, originally shared by racing veteran and former SRS owner Sean Sanchez (though he stated that he was not the original photographer) set the social media site ablaze, with opinions ranging from outrage to understanding the track's right to perform business as it sees fit. A Facebook group titled "Boycott SRS and the 29th Annual Cactus Classic" was created on Sunday afternoon, and the page reported reaching 200 Likes in one hour. As of this article's submittal, the count had risen to 848.
