For the better part of the last decade, the RC10B4 has become the benchmark in which all other 2WD buggies are judged. So far, nobody has been able to dethrone it as IFMAR World Champion.

So, after five-straight titles, Team Associated has finally decided to resurrect the "World's Car" moniker that people racing in the early 90's would be familiar with* (*history lesson for the youngsters: Team Associated released the 'RC10 Worlds Car' after Brian Kinwald piloted his variation of the original RC10 to victory at the 1993 IFMAR worlds in England.)

The new car will feature the "+8 mm" chassis that the team used at the world championships, as well the Pro-Line Bulldog body WC Ryan Cavalieri used to win the overall title.

We heard Brent Thielke mention the team has been working on developing big-bore shocks for the B4.1 platform last month, but they are not included in this particular kit. Such an inclusion would be a fallacy to the "World's Car" motif, after all. As you may remember, it was the "traditionally-bored" shocks of the B4.1 that beat everything else the competition had to throw at it last summer in Finland.

This announcement seems to solidify the B4 platform as the one AE will march onward into the future with. After five straight world championships, why would you want to change much?

You can find Associated's world-conquering edition of their all-time classic buggy in hobby stores this February.

Official release:

Since its release in 2003 the RC10B4 remains undefeated on a world level, having won five I.F.M.A.R. World Championships in a row! In commemoration of our most recent 2WD Off Road World Championship win, we are proud to bring you the RC10B4.1 Worlds Car kit. The RC10B4.1 Worlds Car kit comes with the chassis spec'd out the same as the Team Associated buggies that were driven by Ryan Cavalieri, Ryan Maifield, and Neil Cragg at the 2011 I.F.M.A.R. World Championships in Vaasa, Finland.

The RC10B4.1 Worlds Car kit has all the latest Factory Team features, starting with the +8mm B4.1 chassis conversion. The +8mm chassis greatly improves the overall stability and handling of the buggy, making it easier to drive and lower your lap times. Topping off the +8mm B4.1 chassis is the Pro-Line Bulldog +8mm body.

Other features include the Factory Team 0° rear hubs, Factory Team rear ballast weight, and the new B4.1 Worlds Car setup sheet.
