Whether it's wheel nuts, wings, tools, tracks, trinkets and/or anything in between, the LiveRC staff gives their testimonial and review of each every Thursday morning!

For this week's Thursday Testimonials it is all about stock racing. Having just attended the nationals to run stock, I had to buy some parts and products specifically for stock racing that consumers probably wouldn't otherwise buy. The first one of these are the Avid Racing Concepts Aura Bearings.

Product info:

Avid Aura EB410 Kit
$114.00

The Avid Racing Concepts Aura line of bearings are designed for the highest levels of stock racing competition and are not for everyone. The bearings have open shields to reduce friction, and are fully ceramic to also aid in reduced drag. Due to the nature of the open shielding they are not intended to last as long as the stock bearings but do supply performance gains. I did notice decreased motor temps, quicker acceleration and after 11 full days at the track I only had to replace one rear hub bearing.

  • Durable despite low friction design
  • Ready to install straight from the package, no oiling required
  • Reduced motor fatigue
  • Increased acceleration
  • Same fit as stock bearings

Pros:

  • Increased performance in spec racing
  • Able to buy individually or in packs
  • Reduced friction with a durable design

Cons:

  • Expensive

Final Word:

I used these at the nationals and for a couple of weeks before with major performance gains so if you can spare the cost for the increased performance, it is definitely worth it. Giving these a 5/5 as long as you understand the intended uses.

Rating: 5/5
